My political profile

In: About Spencer, Politics

Got this from Jessica’s blog. I hate the term liberal - can’t we come up with a better term? I prefer to call myself progressive.

Your Political Profile:

Overall: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

Social Issues: 25% Conservative, 75% Liberal

Personal Responsibility: 0% Conservative, 100% Liberal

Fiscal Issues: 50% Conservative, 50% Liberal

Well this is the end of Politcalooza 2006. We’re done partying about the actual possibility of a system of checks and balances being put in place for an administration that had Katrina and Iraq.
Let’s gain perspective.
On Tuesday during the election, the following was CNN’s breaking news alert

Now that’s what’s important.

Kristen asked me why I’m looking at Ann Coulter’s website and today was why.  Did anyone expect her to be a gracious loser?  Well she wasn’t - and what’s best is that she blows up on her website.
She should realize the only people reading are us Democrats who go there for a good laugh - [...]

The 2006 elections were as good for Democrats as the 2004 elections were bad. I have never had as good a news day as this one, from the minute I awoke until now - it just keeps getting better.

I went to bed with the Dems picking up at least the 15 seats they needed. [...]

An hour of liveblogging and I’m ending with Dennis Hastert conceding the Speaker of the House. We’re losing a lot of neck beards. I may have spoken too soon on Virginia.
Good night.

More reasons to get out and vote

In: Politics

From the Rolling Stone article:
And the cost? Republicans in the Clinton [...]

Well tomorrow is the big day. The right to complain about the jobs our elected officials are doing is gained by simply spending the 15 minutes it takes to vote. All the dissatisfaction with the war in Iraq, spending, partisanship is all moot if you don’t vote.
Tomorrow I will be voting against [...]

Politics - Heartland Style

In: Politics, bigotry

I’m in Indiana tonight and so I get to see a whole different type of political commercial - the heartland commercial.  A commercial for Dr. Tom Hayhurst (his site hides if he’s a Republican or Democrat - which means he’s a Republican).
So this commercial shows politicians that have gone wrong and says their sin - [...]

About this blog

Ostensibly A Rubber Door is about anything that's on my mind. Mostly that seems to be about politics, music, sports, and arguing with others about all of the above. I took the name of this blog from a Michael Penn song called Me Around. Check out Michael - he's about the best singer/songwriter there is.
