About Spencer
I live in Conshohocken, a little town just outside Philadelphia. I decided to create this blog in May 2005 to give myself some sort of creative outlet. In July 2006 I moved this blog to the current domain from Blogger.
About A Rubber Door
This site is about a lot of things. Originally I thought I would focus on music, but it seems to be about whatever is top of mind for me when I decide to write. Politics, sports, music, television, and Philadelphia related items seem to be the most written about topics.
Where’d the title “A Rubber Door” come from
If you know me, you know that I’m a huge Michael Penn fan. The title comes from a favorite lyric of mine - the song is called Me Around - and is about a man whose baby doesn’t want him around. So the line goes
Changed the number, Changed the lock
A rubber door in case I knock
I suppose, baby don’t want me around.
Ostensibly A Rubber Door is about anything that's on my mind. Mostly that seems to be about politics, music, sports, and arguing with others about all of the above. I took the name of this blog from a Michael Penn song called Me Around. Check out Michael - he's about the best singer/songwriter there is.
