You’re in luck. My sources tell me ATT will introduce 4G or higher wireless by the end of next year, which means the next iphone will probably support it. ATT has a 5 year contract with ATT so don’t expect any carrier changes for at least two more years. A lot can happen. ATT could merge with someone, buy someone out, etc.

@Kenny – Good question – I’ve actually used all of them at some point – Sprint is amazingly horrible. Verizon has the best coverage but is the most expensive and and their plans suck (although now they have friends and family plans). So that leaves T-mobile and AT&T. I had no problem with T-mobile – but 3G is something different.

Honestly – can’t I just have a better AT&T?

Oh my God, no kidding. I hate AT&T. We get terrible reception! We literally get no signal in our apartment and have to use a Skype client to even use the phone at home. Ridiculous! I agree with you that Itâ€™s a shame that we canâ€™t upgrade our network from AT&T to someone else. On of the things that became very apparent is that AT&T is holding the iPhone back. The other thing is Flash camera still not available...I expect that it will support VoIP apps like Vopium and others which are already available on app store...
