What better place to celebrate our 1st anniversary than in the place where we got engaged. The weather cooperated, and we had a great time. AC is weird town - scratch that. Atlantic City is a sad town with such a mix of rich and poor - the casinos with the butt end to the rest of the city and even the boardwalk itself is a mix of seedy and not so seedy.
We stayed at the Chelsea Hotel which with the Borgata is trying to add a touch of class to the town. Good luck. The hotel itself was a breath of fresh air - no casinos, which meant no Philly or New York City trash to contend with.
Here are some of the pictures I took.

I took the name of this blog from a Michael Penn song called Me Around. Check out Michael - he's about the best singer/songwriter there is.

Has it really been a year already? Congratulations!
If I don’t manage to get onto Flickr to comment properly — cool photos! We have gone to AC periodically (don’t gamble either) and there is this unique, worn quality that you’ve captured really well. Like you said, it’s sad. The grand-old-dame buildings who are worse for wear (there are still a few of those left, aren’t there?)…the folks down on their luck, by circumstance or choice.
Anyway, I dragged my husband into the Ripley’s last time we were there. I don’t want to put words in his mouth, but I believe “stupid” was uttered a time or time. But I kinda loved it — I mean where else can you see both dryer lint carefully molded to look like a plate of sushi AND a taxidermied bunny with wings?

Thanks, thanks and thanks. The photos are ok - not great, I’m in a photo club, so I’m taking a lot more photos.
I have to say I resisted the Ripley’s museum - Kristen wanted to go, but I could think of better ways to spend a few dollars and the time I’d never be able to get back.
