@Joey – I disagree. Think about how much it cost for whoever to send that Obsession DVD in swing states. Think about the Swift Boat ad – that was funded by dollars – and it was effective. You can’t have it both ways – wanting Obama to be more aggressive, but not expect that it cost money.

I have officially endorsed Obama in my own writing and to all of my friends…and a few enemies.

As far as donating goes, I really don’t donate to political campaigns. I don’t know why. I think it’s probably for the same reason I don’t play the lottery.

Besides, the last two elections were basically stolen right out from under our noses.

I’m sure glad I didn’t give money to something that ended like that. Mostly, I don’t give because I need my money. I believe my support will do more for Obama than all the money I have.

His campaign can’t really be won on dollar and cents. It needs to be the kind of grass roots movement that it is, right now. It needs to be people talking and organizing others, who in turn, organize still MORE people.

That is going to be the tale of the tape, in this election.

There is some extremely scary stuff going down, to be sure. But I bet much of the American public still isn’t paying attention, or doesn’t get the ramifications. Hell, I’m not even sure I get all the ramifications.

I agree with Joey — maybe it’s my own Democratic bent, but I feel like the Republicans get away with so much more. It seems to me they employ obvious sleight of hand, but then a large portion of the general population doesn’t even notice they’ve been misdirected…when that sort of bullsh*t gets results, it encourages more of the same. And we all end up losing.

Great point, Spencer. I just keep hearing about how Sarah Palin’s glasses are back-ordered because so many women want them. I keep seeing that McCain is ahead in the polls and I haven’t REALLY seen Obama and Biden start attacking them on the issues you addressed so well in today’s post.

On the strength of the issues alone, this race should be a slam dunk for the Dems. But, as long as there is Roe V. Wade and Gay Rights to fight over, the Republicans are easily able to rally their psychotic fan base.

The Dems need to keep the real issues as the talking points and not allow the Republicans any wiggle-room.

@Joey – I think you’re seeing it that way. From everything I’ve read, the Republicans are having a bad week. They’re still struggling to clean up the “Economy is strong” comment that McCain issued – and the financial market crisis has taken the focus away from Palin.

Democrats need to be less like Chicken Little. The sky isn’t always falling.
