This choice was so bad, it’s laughable.

The sitcom that comes to mind for me is “Harper Valley PTA”.

I can’t wait until they find nude pics of this woman.
You know they are out there.

Somehow, she is supposed to be this sassy woman in the mold of Maude or “The Nanny”

And, guess what….that is only funny until McCain dies and this nut is left running most powerful office in the free world.

Then, not so much.

Spencer–excellent post. I couldn’t agree more.

Merujo–You hit the nail so directly on the head it was like a burst of realization! Palin reminds me of Kristen Chenoweth on West Wing. Or maybe Reese Witherspoon in Legally Blond. McCain is running his campaign based on an after school special script from 1994, I think, called “Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover.”

Thanks Spencer — you have just saved me a load of time (and needless thinking) by saying exactly I was intending to in the blog post I didn’t get around to writing. (Although I was leaning towards using “va-jay-jay” in lieu of uterus…)

I’ll admit I was momentarily intoxicated by the thought of a female president – in the highly specific form of Mrs. Clinton -way back when the NJ primary was held. In retrospect, I may have let my X chromosomes get the best of me. But – oh my god – to hear Palin invoke HC’s name as if Hillary paved the way specifically for her…ignoring their complete ideological differences…

This is the stupidest stunt and attempt at manipulation…er, I mean “gutsy choice”…ever!

And (at the risk of sounding more traditional than I really am) it really disturbed me (as a parent) to think of Palin undertaking this at a time when her (and her husband’s) focus should be on their special needs baby. Even if it only ends up being a couple months on the road campaigning…for someone so apparently steeped in family values, this seems off to me.

Anyway, I am going to cry tears of joy when Obama is elected. (Actually, I kinda did when he accepted the nomination – does that make me a sissy?)

And I think McCain’s choice of running mate has guaranteed that Barack Obama will be our next president.

I completely agree, Mccain’s choice for V.P comes as a total slap in the face and utter disregard to the intellect of American citizens…But i guess only a few of us can see through the smoke….I really hope the Democrats don’t mess this up..cause i dont think God can save us if the the republican candidates get into office….HE will be siting up on a cloud like “I gave you people three chances, what do you want from me…”

This choice is simply insane. Utterly, totally insane. This is not some cute Aaron Sorkin TV dramedy where, when the president kicks the bucket, the gutsy gal with no relevant experience tames her critics and makes nice with leaders the world round.

I think this choice shows contempt on the part of John McCain for the people of the the United States. He doesn’t think we’re worth the trouble to choose a VP with *any* national or international experience. And, any woman who chooses to vote for McCain just because he picked a woman, I will hold in contempt.

Seriously, this pisses me off. God help us if he’s elected and then buys the farm. We are screwed.
