I’m sorely disappointed in the coverage of the DNC tonight. A former President is currently speaking; a speech as important as last night’s.
Instead we get Supernanny, America’s Got Talent, and Criminal Minds.
Pathetic. Thank god for PBS.
Sphere: Related ContentOstensibly A Rubber Door is about anything that's on my mind. Mostly that seems to be about politics, music, sports, and arguing with others about all of the above. I took the name of this blog from a Michael Penn song called Me Around. Check out Michael - he's about the best singer/songwriter there is.

I’m alarmed to see how many people aren’t following the campaign news at all - on either side. And then I remember what country I live in. Politically aware and observant people are not the norm, and maybe they never were.
It’s no wonder the networks devote almost no time to the conventions. Even PBS has annoyed me a few times by cutting away from speeches I actually wanted to see. Oh well. Thank God for C-Span and YouTube.

I have to say this week was a challenge because the Phillies were playing the Mets, but I chose the convention for the most part, and kept track of the Phils online.
So disappointed I missed the beginning of Bill Clinton’s speech - but I’m going to watch it right now.

One more thing - I’m disappointed in PBS and all the other “talking head” broadcasts. They are doing so much creating of news that it’s ridiculous. No one is talking about Obama/Clinton tension except for them - and they can’t stop talking about it.
Hate all of them.

I don’t really care about the conventions. I like the debates more. I’ll watch some of the conventions if I’m home, but it’s just a big pep rally for either side anyway.
Did they have Michelle Obama on a regular channel and not Bill Clinton? That’s wack, if so. He trumps her, like whoa.
