Here’s a great interview of Michael Penn on Bloc Critics in advance of Palms and Runes, Tarot and Tea: A Michael Penn Collection and Mr. Hollywood Jr. 1947 released this coming Tuesday.
Ostensibly A Rubber Door is about anything that's on my mind. Mostly that seems to be about politics, music, sports, and arguing with others about all of the above. I took the name of this blog from a Michael Penn song called Me Around. Check out Michael - he's about the best singer/songwriter there is.

Excellent! Looking forward to hearing his podcast in its entirety.
Refreshing to see the “Sean issue” addressed in a different way — further into the story and mainly letting Michael talk about it himself instead of making goofy presumptions. I had never heard before that MP was reticent to do scoring for fear of possible nepotism accusations… that never would have even occured to me, since I so much consider film scoring to be more of a music-oriented activity than film-oriented (tough obviously both.)
Anyway, cool, thanks for the link!
