My friend Grace and I were talking about one my favorite novels Douglas Coupland’s All Families are Psychotic. It is a very frenetic black comedy that includes among other things - an astronaut love triangle, gun play, kidnapping, all in the state of Florida. One of the things that’s great about this book is the odd situations that are turned back into some sort of life story. None of which could ever happen.

Enter astronaut Lisa Nowak and her diaper aided trip to Orlando. I guess even astronauts can be morons. It’s amazing how lust, love, hormones, whatever it is can lead people to act out like this.

Of course today NASA reacted by saying they will adjust their psychological screening. I suggest the following:

  1. Would you ever consider driving 12 hours in a urine soaked and feces filled diaper to confront someone about their relationship with a someone who doesn’t even know you’re live?
  2. If yes, are you a fucking loon?
